Lucinda founded Kimpton Interiors in 2012 after 10 years in the design industry, a career decision her Mother had always predicted.
Lucinda’s love affair with design and interiors began as a little girl, growing up Lucinda was surrounded by the beautifully designed homes of her family and friends, her own home decorated by her God Mother. Her fascination and curiosity was initially directed towards her 5 foot tall dollhouse which, to the amazement of her Mother, Lucinda lovingly rearranged time and again, perpetually moving furniture and acting as art curator in residence. By the age of 6 Lucinda considered herself well on her way to becoming principle designer, selecting her own curtain fabric and requesting lamps, bedlinen and other bedroom decor for her birthday rather than toys.
Originally from Melbourne, Lucinda attended RMIT where she received her Associate Diploma in “Interior Design and Decoration”. After graduation Lucinda worked and travelled throughout Europe developing and learning from the world’s best designers. Five years prior to starting Kimpton Interiors, Lucinda developed her career as an associate alongside esteemed designer Adelaide Bragg, it was here she finessed her design skills and developed close relationships with clients and suppliers. A wonderful opportunity that set her on her way to starting her own design firm.
Lucinda’s ability to curate moments where heirlooms and antiques sit seamlessly within a contemporary setting is one of her greatest strengths. This combined with her fearless and slightly playful approach towards the layering of colour, pattern and passementerie creates unexpected moments of beauty and interest within her interiors.
